The Abandoned Soldier

Welcome to The Abandoned Soldier’s blog.  This blog is to re- raise awareness of the plight of injured servicemen and women who suffer mental trauma as a result of combat related Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD.
James Napier invested time, energy and spirit to create a statue to be placed ‘somewhere’ to have the greatest effect. The Trafalgar Square installation on a BBC documentary was not to be its final resting place and after a minor media floury the interest wained.
We are now working to get this statue put into The National Memorial Arboretum as a remembrance of the unseen enemy which can affect the ex service community after combat and raise awareness of the victims who suffer quietly on a daily basis.

About theabandonedsoldier

I was commissioned by the BBC for a documentary to highlight the problems faced by many of our service men and women who once they leave the forces often find themselves abandoned by the country they served.
